Fahrenheit 451
by Ray Bradbury
Ray Bradbury, the author of Fahrenheit 451, was born on the 22nd of
August 1920, in Waukegan, to a family that was, with no exaggerations,
living on books. He was self-educated, which means that all of the
knowledge he had was from books and a mass majority of libraries that he
visited on a daily basis. He heard about the heartless act of burning
books- which to him, was the only reliable source of knowledge in all
aspects of life, he felt the need to educate his society about the
effects of living in a book-free world can have on us, hence, he wrote
Fahrenheit 451-a book that depicts exactly that. Throughout his life, he
was influenced by a myriad of factors that lead to him writing such a
deep and futuristic novel.
